Hi there I have used jQuery on my sub navigation of a website that I am building but the CSS is internal. I already have another external stylesheet linked to my webpage that styles the rest of the content. The internal CSS that I have is just to style the sub navigation. If I put this CSS into the external stylesheet or a seperate external stylesheet then the styling for the sub navigation doesn't work. Any ideas as how to fix this problem?

Thanks guys for the feedback. I used Cufon on my website and it worked a treat. Its amazing how something as little as a font on H1 and H2 tags etc.. can affect the overall design.

Hey Guys I am building a website at the moment and have never used any other web fonts apart from the standard ones such as Arial, Georgia etc. I was on this website http://www.visionstudiosdesign.com/mobile-apps.php and I really like the font that they are using for the h1 and h2 tags. Does anybody know what this font is or know a font similar to this that I could use on the web? The standard ones just aren't cutting it for the design I have at the moment and would really appreciate the help. Thanks
  6. The design looks great mate I think it should pass however I agree about the arrows and also the navigation. You should push the navigation links and dividers about 5-10 pixels to the right as it is uneven at each side. Just my opinion though, but it looks clean and eye catching, good job man.
  7. You need a lot more whitespace round about text and graphics as everything appears to be squashed together.

  11. Thanks mate. They are the only two games I play at the moment as well. Thinking about buying Test Drive Unlimited 2, seen the previews for it and it looks sh*t hot. Will add you next time i'm on

When I was younger I wanted to be a doctor, paramedic, engineer and all that sort of stuff. After realizing the amount of work involved and amount of studying it just wasn't for me. Luckily before leaving school I discovered my passion and that was graphic and web design/development. Leaving school with not the best of grades I managed to get into college doing an HNC in Interactive Media and haven't regretted it since. Interactive Media is a mixture of graphic design, web design/development, animation, video, and programming. I passed my first year with an A and currently doing my HND and it's looking to have the same outcome. I also got accepted straight into year 3 at university which I am ecstatic about. The subjects you said seem to be okay I think and I wouldn't worry to much about the grades you will get as I mentioned before I never got the best results and i'm doing fine. It's really the degree that you will get that will matter once you go job hunting. Just remember what ever you do, keep self teaching yourself, it keeps your skills sharp and keeps you aware of the latest trends within this field. I think the average salary for a junior web designer in the UK is 16 - 23 grand from the last time I checked.

I'm 19 and i've been designing from around the age of 14 on and off. I love web and graphic design but also like the technical side of things but i'm just a beginner with code. Hopefully get the grasp of it some time soon
