  1. well, the W3C standards says that any container with floated element should have with and height defined, however due to the dynamic content this is not possible to figure out in all designs. However there's a CSS technique that allows you to do that, try to add this CSS selector to your container. myContayner:after {content: " "; display: block; clear: both; height: 0px; visibility: hidden;} it simply adds an element to your code an clear the floats it may content so the container will warp the floated elements as desired.
  2. A simple solution, without the use of any complicated JavaScript will be he use of CSS pseudo elements behaviors, you don't be able to have any sliding animation but you will achieve to show the hidden information, otherwise you will need to deal with JavaScript: HTML: <a href="#">show text<span class="hiddenText">text</span></a> CSS: a:link .hiddenText, a:visited .hiddenText{ display: none; position: absolute; } a:hover .hiddenText, a:active .hiddenText { display: block; }
  3. It depends on the background texture/photo and the area they will cover, you can have textures from 2px X 2px to what ever dimensions, and positioning you want, however I will recommend not to put a tiled texture to small in a larger area like a full screen since the browser will need to use larger amount of computer resources to fill it, therefore the overall rendering speed of your website will decrease. cheers, wolfitoXtreme
  4. PhotoShop mainly, I had left aside the paper scratch. Even if you are an illustrator you can produce nice pieces with the help of a graphic tablet.
  5. I like the trees background and the crow and perhaps the leafs on the floor, however I do not like/understand the other elements like the menu background or the logo that in my personal opinion it's very jagged, I think a it will look nicer without any distortion at all. You may want to think also about screen resolutions and which software/programming technique you are going to deal with to bring this project to live, since depending on it you may have to make the proper adjustment to your design. cheers, wolfitoXtreme
