Examples of SEO
Nellyshark, you ask a great question that I too was asking when I began delving into SEO and Internet Marketing.. I think an excellent example of quality content is Smashing Magazine (smashing magazine dot com). They produce frequent content for web designers and developers. It is quite simple, they have built their site into an authoritative blog/magazine/resource hub. The benefits now include advertising revenues and sales of books and whatnot. The concept of "content is key" is a bit hard to grasp at first, but once you get it you'll get it

Decent IRC Web Client?
If you're on Mac OS X check out Linkinus. I've been using it extensively for the past two months, it works great.

SEO/SEM Case Study -- have you ever written one?
I'm curious if any of you SEO/SEM practitioners have written a case study on one of your past/current clients. Case studies seem to be a powerful tool to help a client understand the work you will be doing and gain some trust. Some feedback on writing one up, maybe even an example, would definitely be helpful to see.

Just realized a huge problem with my domain
Hey everybody, I just stumbled upon something that could be very damaging to my search engine traffic. My design/dev shop is "Prgmatic", and I own prgmatic.com. I occasionally Google search "prgmatic" to see where I'm at. At first it was surprising that I wasn't on the top page for my own name (especially a unique name that omits a letter). I realized today that when you search 'prgmatic', google automatically corrects it and does a search on 'pragmatic' instead! I mean, in the grand scheme of things its not too painful because I'd much rather have people finding my site when they search Los Angeles web design, or los angeles website design. What do you folks think I should do? Should this be a concern to me?

Are you a Google Analytics Certified Partner? Is it worth it?
I was wondering if anybody on these boards is a Google Analytics Certified Partner or Yahoo Search Marketing Partner? What do you guys think about these certifications and the benefits it will bring? I know that is difficult to obtain these memberships because they require something like $1,000 minimum spending in AdWords, or a minimum number of ads with Yahoo partners or whatnot. If you are a part of these brings, could you tell me more about your experience and the benefits it brings? Much thanks for your insights. prgmatic

Not sure why this didn't cross my mind. Thanks for this, Zed.

Freelance Contracts
Many thanks for the wonderful donation of your freelance contract. It is inspiring and helpful. I think you make a solid point on making sure to have page numbers in "x of x" format so they cannot say they did not receive page 'x'. Best of luck on your endeavors.

Selling products without a full-blown e-commerce solution
Hi folks, I believe my title should be self-explanatory. I am building a business presence on the web, and would like to supplement the basic website with an additional store. I do not want a full-blown store, however. I merely want to sell a handful of branded merchandise for promotion reasons. Is there a pay-pal integration solution that I could use that would not require me to install anything like ZenCart or Magento? (i.e. no e-commerce package -- just an inventory page, and an order processing page, maybe even redirecting to paypal) Thanks for all the helpful information. It's greatly appreciated. prgmatic
