  1. Hi! Im sorry but i havent time to look into detail. But CSS priorities entries which are processed last. <style> em { color: blue } em { color: red } </style> <em>hello</em> means that hello will be in red. With this in mind, I suspect that your "default" tab stuff is after your current tab stuff. Moving the .current_page_item below should fix this problem. Mikey
  2. When you request a webpage. You first receive HTTP Headers, and then the document. So.. If u requested www.google.co.uk, you will get back; HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Sun, 20 Jun 2010 19:58:40 GMT Expires: -1 Cache-Control: private, max-age=0 Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Server: gws X-XSS-Protection: 1; mode=block Connection: close <html><hea.... These are called headers. The <meta http-equiv="http-header" content="data"> edits these headers <meta http-equiv="Server" content="gws2"> <= changes the header from gws to gws2. Mikey
  3. <meta http-equiv="http-header" content="data"> this line changes a HTTP header if you are unable to directly. There is very little need for this these days. So no, you shouldnt need to use HTTP-Equiv Mikey
  4. Heya, What you are giving include() is a URL, which is incorrect. What you need to do is edit rss2html.php; $XMLfilename = "http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/rss.xml"; $TEMPLATEfilename = "http://www.rss-specifications.com/template.htm"; $FeedMaxItems = 1; ... And use; include("rss2html.php"); MikeyB
  5. You have two choices; You can either let your server get the RSS feed and place it inside your website page, Or you can get the clients to get the RSS feed and place it in the page for you. Both have pro's and con's. The biggest is that clients cannot access files from another domain.. So if your site is at www.x.com and the feed is at www.y.com you cannot do this client side. And the con's for server side is overheads If you wish to do it server side, Would want to basically recieve the feed from where its hosted, process it (an XML library of some sort.) and rewrite it out into the HTML you wish to display it in. PHP5 would be something like // Recieve Feed $rssfeed = get_file_contents("URL"); // Process XML $xml = simplexml_load_string($rssfeed); // Display it out foreach($xml['articles'] as $k => $d) { echo "<div>entry number $k says $d</div>"; } Other languages will follow something like that too. Otherwise you can do this client side. If you are using HTML, your only real choice is to use javascript to pull in the feed. Your need to use HTTPXmlRequest to receive the feed, and DOMParser to read the XML... http://www.w3schools.com/xml/xml_parser.asp should help. Or, Alternatively, You can use XSLT if your website is written in XML not HTML. document('url') will recieve the XML, and you format the feed with an XSLT sheet. MikeyB

    Hello Dak, Im presuming this is static? (The image doesnt change automatically) From the picture attached, i get the impression that you dont really want it cell (squares) based. What i would do if i was you, Is save your image as one whole image (Screenshot or something), and in photoshop, Give it some final edits and save as one whole image. This should be under 1mb at a guess. You can then use an image map. http://www.w3schools.com/TAGS/tag_map.asp (<map> tag) http://www.w3schools.com/TAGS/tag_area.asp (<area> tag) You can use rect to give a square hyper link, or you can use poly for a custom shape hyper link. MikeyB
  7. Im presuming u understand XMLHTTPRequest already, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XMLHttpRequest) To set the User-Agent; xmlhttp.setRequestHeader('User-Agent', navigator.userAgent); should work on most browsers. MikeyB
  8. Hi there! P tags are not really what you want to use, here is a link to a simple page explaining fieldsets, legends, and labels with CSS too. http://www.pixy.cz/blogg/clanky/css-fieldsetandlabels.html so something like; ... <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="send.php"> <fieldset> <legend>Send Message</legend> <label for="lastname">Last name:</label> <input name="lastname" type="text" id="lastname" size="30" maxlength="50" /> <label for="firstname">First name:</label> <input name="firstname" type="text" id="firstname" size="30" maxlength="50" /> <label for="email">Email:</label> <input name="email" type="text" id="email" size="30" maxlength="50" /> </fieldset> </form> ... good luck!     I do not understand your question. At an attempt to give some kind of answer. I think what you want is to add target="_blank" to the URI in the feed. The link is stored here: <description><a href="http://www.maccaprios.com">'>http://www.maccaprios.com"> Maccaprios.com </a ></description> to add target="_blank"... <description><a href="http://www.maccaprios.com" target="_blank"> Maccaprios.com </a ></description> Good luck MikeyB
  10. The thing your asking for is extremly difficult to achieve, mostly due to compatibility issues. You could use CSS3 multiple backgrounds, but i believe it is not supported well (it is in chrome + safari (webkit based)). The problem is that your images are a fixed size, and in a fixed location (next to ur content box). Because the browser see's "divs" as tangible objects, the scrollbars are becoming visible. What you need is to hide the overflow inside your align box. .bgalign { height: 100%; width: 100%; overflow: hidden; } *should* fix this, but the real question is why isnt this just a fixed background image, as the content box is a fixed size, as is the "wings" positions? 11. Pre-loading assumes caching. which is a client side thing. I do not fully understand your desire. If you wish to preload "index2.html", while the user is looking on index.html. You can do this by adding this to index.html (subject to client support) <head> <link rel="prefetch" href="index2.html"> </head> If you wish index.html to be a holding page, and to automatically forward the user to index2.html once items you wish to preload are cached. you could do. <style> body { display: hidden } </style> <body onload="window.location.href='index2.html'"> <!-- cache images --> <img src="url"/> <img src="url"/> <img src="url"/> ... </body> I do not recommend this tho. Its a caching issue. Either in the hosting companies servers, or your clients cache. (prolly a bit of both). Time is the only healer for this. And if you check now (ive just checked), it should be fine now. MikeyB
  13. Heya! None of your URLs are accessible. Some currently still point to your personal computers harddrive. what you want is to make them point to your websites files.. <link href="stephencunningham.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery-1.3.1.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="slimbox2.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" href="slimbox2.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> should fix everything MikeyB
  14. Heya! This is a bug in the browser. If you try and inspect the "sticky" menu, (Right-Click > Inspect Element) chrome does not think there is an object present. As its the same with Chrome and Safari, which both use WebKit. Id say its a WebKit issue. I cant help with a solution im afraid, but I suspect there is one other there. Id visit listamatic (or similar for menus) and try a different stylesheet menu technique. Sorry! MikeyB
  15. Your using a binary operation on those two variables. $employee = ($_POST['employee'] or $osrows); $consultingtype = ($_POST['consultingtype'] or $consultingrows); These two lines are testing if one of those values exists, and is returning True (1) or False (0). Hence the value of 1. =] You either want.. $employee = (isset($_POST['employee']))? $_POST['employee']:$osrows; But i dont think you do, as $osrows is not set till later in the code, and is an array anyway. $employee = ($_POST['employee']); $consultingtype = ($_POST['consultingtype']); is prolly what you want. MikeyB
  16. Your a bit off; Give this a try.. <form name="form" id="form"> <select name="jumpMenu" id="jumpMenu" onchange="MM_jumpMenu('parent',this,1)"> <option>-- select organisation--</option> <?php while ($row_rsOrgjumpumpregister = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsOrgjumpumpregister)) { echo "<option value=\"register.php?orgname=" . $row_rsOrgjumpumpregister['orgname'] . "\""; if ($_GET['orgname'] == $row_rsOrgjumpumpregister['orgname']) { echo " SELECTED"; } echo ">" . $row_rsOrgjumpumpregister['orgname']; . "</option>"; } ?> </select> </form>
  17. Heya, I think your problem is here: fcontent[0]="Hello Welcome<br />to our newly Launched site<br /> <br /><strong>"www.webdesigncut.com"<br /></strong>"; you must escape the " marks or use &quote; MikeyB
  18. Heya, some of your pages link to src="jquery.js" (which gives me a 403 access denied) and others link to src="jquery-1.3.2.min.js". change them to the latter. should fix everything. MikeyB
