  1. For sure, thanks Richyy, thanks all!! Are there any sites you recommend for creating Menus ???
  2. hmmm I think the penny just dropped and I realised something... It does not matter where or what the code is, if its in the html or css it still does same thing, the difference is you would use an external css file so that you can edit multiple pages/themes at the same time without going into each html page 1 by 1... ????
  3. Thanks Richyyy I will give this a try, however it is working at the moment but I think its working because the same css code is within the html file ?? So is it safe to say then if you have an HTML page you created in Dreamweaver and it contains all the css codes within it, you don't need an external css file? And if so why would you then use an external css file? Sorry if I am being long-winded or noob-like here.. Really appreciate the help! I guess this is the drawback of not doing a proper web course lol
  4. Interesting it all seems to be working now, I just had to add the origional HTML, not even sure it was the origionaly i just reopened it in DW and pasted what i thought was the origional starting HTML : Does not seem to need the link <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="style2.css" /> Now im confused again because it does not need to be linked to the css file??.. But happy its working at least!!
  5. Thanks Pat24 I will check that out, however I think the problem is actually of another nature now..sigh... Everything seems fine with Google Chrome browser, but it just does not seem to be happy with Internet Explorer, The mistake I think I made was only previewing the site in dreamweaver with Chrome and not Int Explorer... I just opened the origional html within DW and it was fine previewed in Chrome but completely messed with Int Explorer.. How do I determin if the problem is within the css or htm ?? I think another issue may be that I chose a template layout in DW - "2 column fixed, left sidebar, header and footer" I have a feeling something within this is just not communicating correctly with Int Explorer..
  6. Cheers Ricky! The Code <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="style.css" /> seems to be working fine, I think the problem is within the actual page html or the css with regards to the header image or side bar - When I view it with Google Chrome it is fine, looks how it should, when I view it with Internet Explorer it is out of sync, the left sidebar is right at the top of the document pushing and distorting the large header image, and there are a few lines randomly out of place... I guess maybe I just have to play around with the HTM or CSS file until it comes right..Argh.. Unless I can locate the problem quicker using dreamweaver or something.. Thanks for all the help guys!
  7. Hey Epic, Thanks for your answer, I still seem to be having problems dont know what im doing wrong im not sure it its because of were Im placing the code or what exactly, what I have noticed though is when using Google Chrome the page100.html work fine even without the css file But when i use Explorer its totally out of place etc.. So were exactly do i position the code if this was the start of my second css file for example: I dont quite get the first part of the css either - before the body: Is that telling to render something from server or just irrelevance? Much Thanks!!!
  8. Hey ALL, I have been trying to figure out how to add a new page onto my website the problem is I created it in dreamweaver and it has its own new css were as the rest of the site has another .css file. How do I get them to run independently using their own css files or one css file specifying the individual pages. The thing is they really are two completely different pages with two completely difference css coding.. SO I had something like this in the origional style.css file <html> <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" type="text/css"> </head> <*{ margin: 0px; padding: 0px; } body { padding: 16px 0px 10px; background: url('images/background.jpg') #5f92d2 repeat-x 0% 0%; color: #fff; font-family: tahoma, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; and ending... /* Page Footer */ #page_footer { margin: 5px; width: 567px; float: right; text-align: center; font-size: 11px; } Then I created another folder on the host server and added a new css sheet called style2.css which looked something like this: Another thing with the new page - page100 I was not sure how much of this code was necessary: Im not sure if I need to just add page tags or have just one .css file and put all the code into one and then how to separate exactly which css is for what page.. ? Any Help is hugely appreciated! Much Thanks!!

Hi there I am still new to Web design but I have started creating my own site Mainly just HTM and a little CSS for the moment. Will possibly remove the css as only used in index page atm. My biggest challenge so far is finding a means to get a HUGE map which was created in Excel onto a webpage and whilst retaining its individual images so these can then be used as separate hyper-linked objects and thus create an interactive on-line map. The problem is the Map is Huge, it saves to an HTML file with Office 2007 and still comes in at about 25meg which I know is way to large and problematic. I have temporarily taken a screen shot and saved with Photoshop, I did think of then cutting out all the individual images from a screen shot and re-uploading them over the original full picture to make them individual hyper linkable or flash objects. But when I do this I find it tricky laying images over other images and as i then obviously find images going missing and becoming trapped or misplaced. (i have not tried in an external editor yet though) 1 – Is it possible to convert a large Excel image (Mad up of multiple images and shaded cells with word art) and upload it without loosing to much quality and keeping the size down. ?? 2 – If I just save it as an image other that taking a high resolution screen shot what is the best means to do so and get the best quality? 3 – What is the best way to insert images over other images? Should I be using something like Komposer or Dreamweaver instead of the basic online HTML editor to do so first then upload the finished file? (as mentioned I currently use Photoshop, Kompozer as well as a basic online HTM editor and I trial of Dreamweaver & power-bullet at the moment.) (I have attacked a reduced example of the image, most of the additional details are separate images/objects or cells within the original Excel file) Apologies if it is a mouthful or if Im asking obvious things.. Much appreciated! Dak
