Hi, I run a freelance business (not web design) and have a need to transfer and store files for clients to upload/download. I was wondering if there was a web based application so I can share my files between me and my clients. I currently set up a FTP upload/download folder for them and have told them to use Win explorer to upload/download files, but even tho this is a very simple, a lot of my clients are not computer literate and have trouble with firewall, timing out problems, all sorts really and its a pain! I was hoping that there was something very user/firewall friendly for my clients to upload and download files from my hosting server. Something that could be web based and customizable to my website - I don't want the client to have to install anything. Any help appreciated.

true but some of my clients are not the best when it comes to computers . I just want to make it as easy and smooth as possible for them..and I thought just logging into a session in my portal would be neat.

ok thanks for the pointer. Its fustrating because I only want the client to see my screen - not control or anything. I would have thought that this would be easyly integrated into my portal without using remote login software..I may even set up a webcam onto the screen or something for my design meetings

Hi, I am about to purchase a php client management script so clients can upload files, see invoices etc...but I would like to hire a php programmer to code add a extra module to it – like a remote login module. I would like the client to be able to see my screen remotely from anywhere they are. I would like it to be as simple as possible for them without using remote login software...through my web client area only. Is this possible to do with php and the correct server technology? Is this a major undertaking to do this? Thanks

Hi all, I don’t really know how to measure the likeliness of being successful with the keywords I choose in my website. I would like to be ambitious - but realistic!! so I found this formula on the web;- % = (Approx Average Search Volume/total results) * 100 Monthly Approx Average Search volume, found from Google keywords tool, and total Google results for that keyword. This gives a percentage and I would like to know if this is a good approach, and what percentages are realistically achievable?

Ok thanks. Another question, My website has different pages offering my core services..like product design, product visualization, product managment etc... Was going to pick 7 keywords/phrases in my content for the whole site, or should I use 7 per page? really not sure how many keywords I should concentrate on!!

Hi all, I am re writing my web content around my keywords/keyphrases, for my product design website. The keywords are based around what I belive potential customers will use when searching. I want to include north west in my keywords as thats were I am based, so do I use prases in my content like north west product design etc.., or keep north west as a seperate phrase? seperating them would be better as this would mean less keywods/phrases to concentrate on. I am going to stick with 7 words/phrases as advised on this forum! Thanks

I didnt realise by adding my website on a regular basis was considered spamming - thanks for telling me this!! My web host offer a service to submit my site every month to 100 search engines for a small fee - this gave me that impression. Coolblue, I have just registered for the webstats tool from my hosts, and just figuring out how to do that. Regarding keywords do I pick a handfull of keywords or phrases that are relevant (and maybe not as competative) for my service and place them in my content without spamming or going over the top? I think I need to re wite some of the content to reflect this in my site! Thanks again as this is valubale to me

Hi, I run a small specialist design service (not webdesign) and have a website. I would like to work on my SEO. The website is SEO friendly in terms of its design, and has good content that is updated. I am trying to get my site linked from other sites and have been adding it to google on a weekly basis. My wife has a lot of spare time in the day and I am wondering what she could do on promotion my site on Google. Is it worth her constantly adding my main web address to google (submitt url) on a daily basis? The more you keep submitting it the better? I am getting about 80 hits a day. Not sure if this good or bad – suppose its better than 0. Any help appreciated. Thanks
