  2. Hi! How do I delete my account please? Thank you!
  3. Hello JavaScript masters! I have no ability with JavaScript but have copied and pasted some code on my links page: http://www.patricktitheridge.com/links.html so that I can show different content when clicking on a different link. In this case links to other websites. My problem is that I want the HTML links to be active but as they are written into the JavaScript I am unsure how to do this. Is there an easy way to achieve this with just a little more code? Remember I have next to no knowledge of JavaScript! Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks so much!
  4. Hi folks, just wondering if I could possibly see some of your personal websites. I'm interested to know what other people's look like before I start building one for myself. Would be interesting to see how different they all are. I would like to see beginners sites and experts please. Small or big, simple or complex... Thanks!
  5. Hello peeps, I am an amateur web designer. I have a small portfolio of websites that are centered with a fixed width. I wondered if a few experts could give me some general information on getting started in designing for hand held devices. How does design for hand held devices differ from that of average monitor sizes. Can I simply add some javascript code to recognize the monitor size or is this an amateur way of diversifying my websites for mobile phones. I am interested to know how the experts do it. As I say I know absolutely nothing about this so even the most obvious snippets of info will be of use to me. Thanks everyone!
  6. I had a look at Cushycms. It's just what I was after. I have used Wordpress myself before and I felt it was just much more than my friend needed. Cushycms has a very simple interface and doesn't overcomplicate things. I simply put the text I want my friend to be able to edit in a new div tag and created an account for him. He can't go wrong really. There aren't enough options in Cushycms to confuse him so it's perfect. I'm sure there are other similar cms' but this will do for now. Anyone familiar with Cushycms? What are your opinions (good and bad)? Thanks everyone!
  7. It seems not. Just tried it out. It's great! Thanks very much mteam!
  8. I have now had time to look at some of these suggestion and was surprised that most of them are not free! Is there not an open source CMS that meets my needs?
  9. Just had a look at Cushycms. You have to pay for the pro version!
  10. I have finished building an HTML & CSS site for a friend. My friend wants to be able to edit one or two paragraphs of text in the finished site on a weekly basis. Nothing more than that! So...is there a CMS that I can use to identify these particular paragraphs of text in the finished website so that he can simply log in to his CMS account and start editing only the marked paragraphs. My friend is not particularly computer savvy so it should be a very simple and un-cluttered CMS. No need for anything too powerful! Content Management Systems are very new to me so I don't know what is out there or how to separate the good from the bad. I must stress that I do not want to build the site from scratch again in something like Wordpress. I simply want to mark one or two paragraphs in my existing site to be editable! Thanks everyone. I appreciate your help!
  11. Hi folks. Thanks so much for your replies so far. The thing is that I have pretty much finished the site. Using some of these suggestions such as Wordpress would I be able to up load the html, css files I have already written or would I have to start from scratch again using Wordpress to write them? I don't want to have to do all that again! Is there a CMS out there that I can simply upload my existing files to and then just identify the sections of content to be editable? Rallport do you have any links to examples? Thanks everyone!
  12. Hi folks. Not sure if I am posting this question in the right section as I am unfamiliar with the correct terminology but was wondering... I have just finished building a website for a friend that owns a shop. They want to be able to update the content i.e. paragraphs of text and images as and when they like without having to involve me. How is this usually done by professional web companies and how should I do this for my friend and his shop? Is there a software package I need with an interface to prevent them from having to edit the source code and accidentally screwing up the html file? Would I need to set up their own hosting account? I am only an amateur web designer so this is all new to me. Thanks for your time and help!

I have 3 paragraphs of text. One should only be visible at a time. However I will be adding more in the future so it should be simple just to add further paragraphs when needed. I suppose it would make things a lot clearer if I just showed you the page... http://www.aesthetemedia.co.uk/info.html As you can see andyl's suggestion is perfect. I just want it to fade so that it looks more stylish. Appreciate your thoughts guys!

Is there a way I can do it using the code already given to me? Don't want to have to delete everything I've just done!

That's great andyl. It worked a treat! Thanks so much! Do you have any idea how I can make each of the cases 'fade in' so that it has a nice stylish feel? I appreciate this!
