  1. You guys gave some really useful feedback when we launched back in November. We'd love it if anyone can review our re-launch and give some pointers. The main changes are to the car pages, e.g. - Ford Focus page I'd like to hear if you think it's clear what the site does, without giving away what we do! Thanks Alex
  2. thanks everyone! =) so what do i need to set the z-index to?
  3. Hey, I just added the getsatisfaction.com Feedback widget, however it's not loading properly on a few pages such as on the homepage: www.carbuzz.co.uk - the logo and search bar are overlaying the lightbox! Anyone know how this can be fixed? Thx =) x

  5. Hey, Having a few problems trying to preview my asp .net site in a browser. I'm trying to make a couple of small design changes. I have Dreamweaver CS5, which I think isn't letting me preview the site as it doesn't support .net anymore. Don't have much of an idea of what I'm doing but have downloaded the .net framework and am now trying Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. This is giving me server errors when I try to preview the site, stuff to do with the database id etc - "Login failed for user 'sa'"... Also got very confused with IIS and trying to set up a local server, I really shouldn't have to do all this to just preview my site should I? All I want to do is view the design and make some changes to the css and the main index.aspx site! How can I best preview this in a browser so I can see the changes I make? Thanks!

  7. I know, but I'd still like to know the answer! Cheers
  8. The developers have said they can't grab the engine name from anywhere! Do you know where it could be taken from?
  9. Hi Charlie, There are pages for each engine size listing. We get a fair bit of traffic to these page. But are aware it's almost identical content on each. We want to know if our search traffic will increase (in the long term) if we just had one page for all those engine, or if it's better to keep all the engine pages as well. The developer has said we can't add the engine name to page title or meta desc, not really sure why! Cheers,
  10. Look there's a free trial and I just wanted to give it a go, I'm using Google Analytics as well, can someone please answer my question as I'd really like to understand how to do this. I assume I just put the tracking on all the main .aspx files but I just wanted some clarity. Thanks.
  11. Get Clicky has near real time stats (< 5 min) and it also has a 'spy' feature where you can see what's happening on your site when it happens which should be pretty interesting for analyzing user behaviour. It's got some other useful stuff like Twitter analytics too. If someone could actually help answer my question that would be
  12. Do you think getting rid of the engine specific pages, and just having the parent (model) page, then the search engine results for the engine specific pages would be replaced (in time) with the model specific pages?
  13. I know SEO is boring, but this is annoying us now! What's the best way to overcome this internal dup. content problem? We have what are essentially product type pages with a lot of content generated by AJAX. But within each product page, users can also filter by different specs, which reduces some of the content, but still has a huge amount of the same content as the main level page. An example: A main product type page - Ford | Focus | Reviews | Carbuzz One filtered by a spec (engine type) - Ford | Focus | Reviews | Carbuzz As you'll see the content that a spider would see is v.similar. We can't redesign the site. Would it be a good idea to add rel=canonical to the engine level pages, so we have one decent page (the main car page) with a lot of content that doesn't appear on other of our URLs? Or is there another way to solve this?!
  14. I'm tracking with Google Analytics as well, GetClicky can give you a bit more insight into what users are actually doing on your site though which is why I'm testing it out =)
  15. Hey peeps, So I'd like to install getclicky.com tracking on a site which is built on asp.net but only know how to do this on html files. On the server there are: .aspx files - which i gather are similar to an html file .bak files - which i assume i ignore as they're just backups(?) .cs files - files written in c# which i haven't got a clue about .cs.exclude and other .exclude files - which i think means they are just excluded from the backup(?) and then obviously xml docs, stylesheets etc which I'm ok with! So say I've got all these files for the index page: index.aspx index.aspx (bak) index.aspx.cs index.aspx.cs (bak) Would I only put the tracking code onto the index.aspx file? Ignoring the backup... and the c# stuff. Some clarity would be seriously appreciated! =)
  16. Anymore like that out there?
  17. Hi guys, Looking for advice as to which is the best feedback tab plugin out there. Seen lots of sites using uservoice. I like the one on this site as it's so simple - http://www.whoseview.ie/index.html Anyone know where you can get a plugin like that? Thanks!
