  1. my site from last year is at cbninedesign dot co dot uk but it really is BAD my new site is so far only done in Photoshop although all thumbnails are not done as you can see. I am only trying to create a really simple site just for my work and a contact but am now feeling rather beaten! After I finish my degree in the summer I will hopefully have more time to devote to it. photoshops slice tool and exporting it was just what I was going to do next
  2. I've done the design bit...it's the getting it working bit that I'm struggling with!
  3. Me... My Website is so bad I'm too embarrassed to even link it! Anyway what I really need is some advice. Last year I created my 'Worst Website ever' by really quickly following an online tutorial as I needed a website to show my college work. Only problem is it works differently in every browser and needs the viewer to scroll down the page. I don't like it and have never met anyone else who does either! So i have done another very simple design for a portfolio site in Photoshop and I think I will be able to slice it up to put it into Dreamweaver. But it includes thumbnails which I want to enlarge to show my work when the mouse rolls over them. Is this a bit advanced for a Dreamweaver newbie or will it be straightforward? I use Dreamweaver so rarely I can never remember it when I start it up and only know the VERY basics of HTML. any advice appreciated.
  4. I am writing a case study on The effectiveness of modern film posters as advertising and think a survey will help with my research. Sorry if its a bit long. Any answers welcome (except rude ones!) What is your age? Are you male or female? 1. Do you live in an urban or a rural area? 2. What inspires you to go and see a film? a. recommended by someone else b. trailer on the TV c. trailer on the internet d. Poster of the film e. Read the book first f. Other advertising (such as?) 3. Do you think that film posters are still needed as essential advertising for a film? Please give reasons. 4. Do you have any film posters? If so did you buy it because of the film, because you liked the poster design or both? 5. Do you think modern film posters are more or less memorable than the illustrated film posters made before digital technology. 6. Which film poster, if any do you think is iconic? Please look at these Polish film posters 7. Do you prefer the 'artiness' of Polish film posters to the classic photographic, digital images of modern UK and US film posters? 8. Do you have or have you seen any film posters from other countries that you have really liked? 9. Can you name a film poster from the last couple of years that you think is particularly memorable? 10. What was the last film you saw, a. what made you go to see it and b. can you remember the poster for the film? Thankyou
  5. I have just bought a Wacom tablet too. Have had it for about a week. Love it although it does take a while to get used to. I am left handed so it is FAB to be able to draw in programs with my left hand. My 'art' so far has been pants though! (I still have my mouse plugged in too...is that cheating?)
  6. Hi I have a college assignment to find out about the life and work of a modern designer and I have only come up with a couple of names, can anyone suggest any others I could look at. It needs to be someone recent and also they need to have been designing for quite a while to give me enough to discuss! if they have died it has to have been in the last 10 years. TIA
  7. I like it although there is too much on the first page for me, I don't like scrolling down. I'll leave the experts to criticise help with the coding as I don't know enough!
  8. oh goody another one here goes
  9. I'm not sure you could ever get it like that in illustrator. You may need to use photoshop. I only have CS2 though. (cue someone else coming along and telling me that I'm talking tosh!) sorry not much help really!
  10. Thats not yellow..its gold looks good to me!
  11. ok I'm going to have a go stand by...may take me several hours to post it correctly!
