August 15, 200818 yr Hi Guys, Need a little help! Basically I have a CSS drop down menu which displays fine when rolled over in FF but in IE the drop down appears behind the JPEG image. The Z-Index is set to 500 on the drop down and there is no Z-Index value set on the div holding the jpeg. Im guessing it is a Z-Index issue but I dont have any experience in using it so if someone can help me out id be very greatful. God Speed!
August 15, 200818 yr would need to see an example of what you have going on to help you. its most likely not a z-index issue

August 15, 200818 yr Author Thanks mate, Javascript is a last resort. Id rather stick with CSS, ive never used javascript before. I had this problem before but it was a flash image and i changed the wmode to transparent but cant get my head around this one. Help dudes! When I change the position of the image div to inherit or fixed then the dropdown appears over the image but i cant control the position of the div, not sure if this helps just thought id add it in.
August 15, 200818 yr at work right now so i wont be able to really give it a good look till later. but if that last thing you say is try, why don't you try position:relative; left: Xpx; top:Xpx; and adjust them that way. have you tried relative position with this yet?
August 15, 200818 yr Author Yep its not working either mate... Been trying to solve this issue all day and still no luck
August 16, 200818 yr Author I think i may have to go with javascript as the deadline is coming up, any last ditch efforts?
August 16, 200818 yr It could well be a z-index problem as IE calculates z-index incorrectly. Have a look here for a good explanation.
