April 24Apr 24 I have a website which is about my family history, this was made using firstly, FrontPage, and later Microsoft Expressions web. i want to update this to my latest research, but it must be able to edit my existing html pages etc. i don’t need advanced features, just pages of text and picture and a few internal and expernal hyperlinks. I don’t want to spend a fortune, but a reasonable one off cost of a modest subscription would be ok. as I am a carer for my wife, my time is limited, so am not able to start again. suggestions gratefully welcomed Bob p.s. I want to keep existing domain i did ask question before, my need hasn’t gone away. so many solution seem to include hosting Edited April 24Apr 24 by stonechat
April 24Apr 24 Bob, You asked the same question here: and here: The answer is the same as before. Install wordpress and you won;'t ever need to touch HTML ever again.
April 24Apr 24 You can install wordpress on your existing hosting. Most decent hosts offer a one click install option. If you could post the URL for your website it would help.
April 26Apr 26 Author My website is www.cotswan.com am am thinking converting this over to Wordpress is a major job. I have no experience of wordpress
April 26Apr 26 If you have all the content 'offline' it's not complicated. Probably time consuming as you have a lot of content on the site but not difficult. You could use one of the many HTML to WordPress converter tools but as this replicate your current site you will be missing out on many of the features WordPress offers. And of course the conversion will drag across all the unnecessary MS code a WordPress site doesn't need. If you want some help with this send me a PM with your contact details or reply to the email I've sent you from the website.
