Best Browser for Web Design Testing in 2025?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm currently updating my workflow and was wondering what browsers you all are using for web design and cross-browser testing in 2025.

I’ve mostly stuck with Chrome and Firefox DevTools, but I’m starting to notice inconsistencies in how some features render — especially on Safari and mobile browsers. Curious to know:

  • What browsers do you prioritize for testing?

  • Any tools or browser extensions you recommend for easier responsive/debug testing?

  • Do you still bother testing on legacy browsers, or has that faded out?

Appreciate any thoughts or recommendations!
Also, I found this helpful Google search if anyone else is comparing options.

Thanks!

Test using all browsers. Use the built-in inspection tools for responsive rendering.

I don't bother with legacy browsers.

And avoid anything cutting edge - it will fail for some users.

For mobile and responsive checks, I use BrowserStack and Polypane.

Or just user the browser developer tools. They all have an option to display in various modes.
