Hi all,

We're in the process of starting up a new classifieds site in South Africa, and would really appreciate some feedback on the general design and layout of the site. Currently, the site's layout is pretty basic and kinda old-fashioned, but very functional. We're considering changing the layout to something more modern, but don't want to sacrifice speed or functionality.

The site is www.vendoo.co.za

Any inputs would be appreciated!

I like its simplicity. The design still looks nice and clean. I like its color scheme too. Looks pleasing to eyes.

The site is also easy to navigate. Nice work!

Too many nested divs you don't need them, classic replacing <table> for <div> :p. Not every html element has to be so contained, let the code breeeeeeath :)

Not a great fan of the side navigation, maybe it's the font or the size of the arrows or the way it pops up over.

I more or less like it over all, but there is one thing that specially don't, the navigation, agly and too wide for my taste.

Thanks, we'll take a look at that. We're using CakePHP as a framework, and with all the helpers and elements we probably got a bit carried away. As for the navigation, we've discussed changing it to something less sensitive to mouse movement. The menu in its current form closes way too easily when the user accidentaly moves the pointer away.

Thanks. When we change the layout, we'll seriously consider moving at least some of the navigation options to the left of the screen. :)

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
