this is the design for my new website development company, just wondering if it looks good so far

 

im thinking of putting the login box above or below the navigation, just doesent look right were its positioned just now?

It looks clean, but it is very hard to judge it as there is no content, or no indication of how the content will be placed on the page. So at the minute all it is, is a shell.

Already it doesn't look like it's going to adhere to a grid layout - might be worth have a search to read about them.

 

I'm not a fan of "navigation" heading.. you don't need a "This is the content.. you read this bit heading" do you?

you do get those unfortunate ones out ther that dont no how to navigate a website so thats why i have put that in

Ask yourself before you start designing; "What content do I need on my page". Then, design around your content. Not a general rule, but more of a tip for you.

 

- I like your logo

- The colors looks nice, but I would've used a gradient from that gray color to white.

- The white login-area looks good, but maybe it draws to much atention? I would've kept it the same color as the rest of the header.

- Ask youself. Do you need a drop-down menu? It looks good, but a Web design company normally just needs 4-5 menu options.

- Design a content area and place some text. It's hard to give you more feedback before you've done that.

 

Don't take this the wrong way. This is a good design - it just needs more work to become a really good.
