Hi there,
I'm new to building websites, and have put a lot of time into this site. I have a susupicion, that there are still elements that don't work great, and I'd love your feedback on the design, as well as any suggestions that you feel would help specific elements, or the overall look and feel.

Please feel free to comment on any aspect.

Bear in mind, that I am new to this, so try not to whack me too hard.

And, thanks so much for taking the time to reveiw.  There is also a  link to a feedback form within the footer of each page, if you want to use that. However, whatever works for you. And, thanks again!!!

*edit* Oh, I don't know if it is obvious, but I used squarespace.   I know it's probably rudimentary for designers, but.. you do what you can, ya know?

Hi John,

Well done for building the site.

Looking at your work it look like you are an excellent builder. The properties in your portfolio are fantastic. However, building a house is a totally different skillset to building a website. I'm not going to list everything that's wrong with the site, that would take me forever to write. What I'm going to suggest is you find someone to build the site for you. They have the skills necessary.

But to give you an idea of what needs fixing:

  • Nobody cares about you. You are secondary to everything you do. This means you need the portfolio on the homepage. Let your work do the selling for you.
  • On the project pages you need more pictures. The more you have the better. Visitors to your site can't go to the property so you need to show then everything. If there are some fine details in the construction give me some closeups.
  • Make sure you have a call to action and contact details on every page. Even better, have a callback form on every page.
  • Also consider your marketing plan. How will you be getting visitors onto the site? Your marketing campaign will dictate the focus, content and structure of the site.
  • And add some pictures of you and the team! When I pick up the phone I want to know who I'm talking to.

As I said, there are loads of things need sorting but that should give you an idea where to go next. But get someone on board to help with the site development.
