Recommended Software for Beginners

Featured Replies

I'd recommend staying away from software that takes anything away from the learning process or anything that "fills in the gaps" in your skill.

Personally I'd say get notepad on the go!

Like Mesa it is better to be able to do it yourself, especially if you are a beginner. Beginners shouldn't be in a rush to make good looking sites before knowing how to construct them correctly...after all in the long run you will benefit more if you start off correctly :)

Although I'm a fan of notepad++ it has colours :pp

Thanks for sharing your find though :D

I've really got into PSPad, since it has a nice project viewer on the side and supports a wide variety of file types - although i prefer Notepad++ syntax highlighting for CSS and it's block collapsing feature, really helps keep a bit of code legible. Although it would be nice if the block collapsing could be remembered between sessions for a given file.
