Not a bad start. Mostly error-free (there's an extra <p> that you don't need). Couple of points:

- I don't see the point in the scrolling content area. Why not just make the site taller if people are going to have to scroll anyway?

- I don't think some of the colours are quite right.. I like the general colour choice, but it's going a bit wrong when it comes to the pattern going across different backgrounds.. there's no visually intuitive link between the colour choices (hope you get what I'm saying - I know what I'm trying to say, just not quite how to say it!). The scrolly thing is possibily too prominent. I'd be tempted to knock it back a bit.

- A few more graphic elements would really lift it, I reckon. Maybe on the menu or something. It's very texty atm. I'd like more visuals.. photos for preference.

- The background scrolly pattern thing doesn't look right on the bottom left because it's got a flat edge on the left side.. it looks unfinished. That should really be coming off the left edge of the browser window, or it should continue along in some way.

- for usability, I'd the section title put at the top of each section.. eg, when I click on News, it should say News just above where it gives the date of the item.

- I'd think about changing the name of Music to Purchase or something. Music sounds like a section where I'd read about her influences and things rather than somewhere I could buy her CDs.
