Its not bad I think it just needs to have a bit that pops off the screen at you as at the moment everything is understated and a little bland. If you made a feature of the header so that the views eyes were drawn into the site that would really help it out. So maybe just play around with a colour (maybe the red you are using) and just try and bring the header a live, you will find that even the smallest of changes can take a site from the bland to to amazing :)
