October 10, 20196 yr having trouble reconnecting android tablet to virgin wifi. it was connected berofre but accidently turned of the power to the router. turned router back on and WLAN on tablet in setttings is authenticated but stuck at on obtaining ip address. works fine on my android phone and computer tried turning off router, choosing "forget connection" on tablet and turning off tablet. restarted router, turned on tablet and entered password then place tablet 1 metre from router (apparently if it's too far away it can cause a delay when setting up WLAN) rinse and repeat several times and still no joy. run out of things to try. also in the WLAN settings what difference is there between the router name detected as "VM1234567" (no the actual number, but is 7 digits) and another secure connection named "Virgin media" ? driving me crazy
October 10, 20196 yr I've been told that the generic 'Virgin Media' one is your neighbours' - as in, if you've got that VM app they throw at you, you can use theirs. So the one you need a password for is the VM# one. That probably isn't related to your problem, though, so I'd ask their customer support who have helped me before in exactly the same situation (switched it off and on again, but at their end! 😁)
October 11, 20196 yr Author seems to have been an issue with being logged in when connected (with gmail account) and when the router was turned off tablet needed me to login back to my gmail account. When i did this then it connected fine - so it's all good.
