In the meantime, I've been asked to do a new site for my CU.

Uses a very similar CMS to the one I made for langwithonline.com but modified since this site has rather different needs. It's supposed to be a fairly simple site. A lot of content isn't up yet, but you get the general idea. I like the big photo front page, even though generally I'd say splash screens are a waste of time, since it does have introductory text and such on it. However, I think it needs something at the top, the links to the rest of the site seem hidden, but putting the banner from the other pages there would be a bit much, I think.

Ya I agree the nav on the first page does get lost. what if you just simply put a margin at the top?
