I've created a responsive menu that works great on a "resized" computer browser. Doesn't work on my phone. What gives?

Have you added a viewport meta tag? If not a phone will normaly just scale down the 'desktop version' of the page.

It’s working on my phone. Not particularly effective but it does work

The pictures on the home page aren't extremely large? Even though I have them set to be smaller on the phone.

It's an 585px × 300px imaged scaled down to to 275px × 141px and then scaled again to 175px wide.

On a small screen the image should really be 100% width - otherwise it's too small to see any detail. One could even argue that a 275px image is too small even on a desktop. Maybe introduce the cabin and then show larger images or even link them to the gallery.

People will want to see where they are staying - big images help to do this.

And the menu gets chopped as the browser window reduces. This means I only see 5 links before it switches the the hamburger. The hamburger is top left outside the container. Ideally it should replace the navbar. Even better it should say 'Menu'.
