Hey guys, I'm making a website for a trucking business. Here's what I have so far:

 

Everything is coded, so now its just about getting it to work in Internet Explorer.

 

What do you guys think of it? It needs to be professional looking, so I don't think I want to introduce any more colors. But it is looking pretty gray right now.

Maybe you can create a texture for the background. In this way you don't add any color but you just make it a little different.

The site looks nice! It is slightly a little bit dull because of all the grey, it gives the site a bit of a serious feel but that might not be a bad thing! The site looks well laid out and organised. It looks easy to use. I like your logo at the top left as well.

 

I think the text under the first "What's up" heading might look better justified .

Yup nowt wrong with gray.

 

Sometimes as nice way to break it up is some KEY colours on links and text, or a white background behind large body/bodies of text or even behind the navigation (here another colour that fits with the blue and gray may even work, pissibly a shade of orange?). Another option is to consider some other colours for the Headers = 'What's up' or three different background colors/shades in the Chemical Transport/ Fuel Tranport/Truck Maintenance boxes

 

Looks very good to me, don't be fooled into thinking everything has to have bright colours, make sure anything is an improvement as is it looks professional with a real eye to detail particularly in aligning text and headers.

 

Final idea lose all the gray background except for behind the navigation, then bring some suitable ohter colours in as above i.e. headers, background on boxes...

To break it up perhaps a nice pixelperfect 3D truck is called for? This could help with 'brighten' thngs up.

I took your suggestions about making the background of the content white, and while it was a lot of effort, I think the end result looks better. Because of this, I don't think I'll need to add a different color into the mix because the website already seems 'brighter'.

 

I just need to fix some of the text padding and internet explorer now, and I think I'm set. Thanks for all your help, and feel free to add more suggestions.

 

The only thing I feel is wrong with it now is the 1 pixel of space between the content and the footer.. barely visible, but its still there. And I have no clue what to do about it, because negative margins have no effect on the footer because I made it using 'clear: both'

Looks good now, that white certainly has brightened it up.

Could I make one more suggestion?

 

I would make your content area white as you've done but keep the blue box on grey? Excuse my quick mock up, but I'm sure you get the idea. The idea behind this is the highlight the 3 main aspects just a little more;)
