finding media files in source code

Featured Replies

I'll use an example..

I have a site with sound (mp3) preview player like Soundcloud, sound libraries etc.

I am guessing they work based on ajax ?

Anyway, I thought I'd be able to locate the sound file itself in the 'sources' tab (Google Chrome).

But I couldn't. Usually I find images this way.

Is there a reason, why it doesn't appear there ? And is there a way to locate / get it somehow ?

Thanks!

I hope you are not trying to steal content from an author.

Assuming you're not, it would be easier if you post up the website you are talking about.

ok, so I guess it's different for every site..

For audiojungle for example, the mp3 file was in the Network tab.

And it was purely out of curiosity.

Providers are getting better and better at hiding their content. Cloud providers for example often encode their embeds so you can't extract the media.
