Hello everyone.

 

I'm in the middle of redisgning my new website and would love some constructive feedback on the design and also my logo. Please ingore the actual copy, as that will change but how does it look?

New Bamboo-Media.co.uk Design

This is a nice clean design. I really like the bamboo theme and header. Your code looks excellent, too.

If this was my design, I think I would change the footer. The boxes seem very large, and I wonder if they would look better if they were wider and stretched more to the edges of the design.

Also, on your web design page, I would use a list <ul> to display the services you offer - you could use a bamboo motif as the list bullet?

Your blog page could do with a little attention - I'm not sure about the blue headers - perhaps the wrong colour? And the search box is tiny...

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the footer does need some tweaking. The blog is a work in progress, so please ignore that for now!!!

I think NotBanksy covered it. Maybe you could also try the text on the footer buttons in white?

 

Apart from that looks good and validates too.

Thanks guys. I must admit, I'm kinda running out of inspiration for the footer. Is it the buttons, the colour, or the height? Or all of the above!!!

Nav - why is it absolutely positioned? In my browser its way off to the left

Footer buttons - too big, don't stand out from the background, cant read the text

Header image - love it, but needs more detail to really pop

middle - feels very empty, needs some definition

I actually like your site. Its design really looks nice and professional. What I like most is the design of your header. It has a great concept. Well done!

Looks great, it's clear, visually stimulating, accessible.

 

If I were to change anything it would be to maybe find someway to include a little more color. Also I would definitely change the alt text to make it relevant (this would not only increase the level of accessibility but also provide extra space for key words and improve search engine placements).

 

for example "footimg1" to "bamboo custom designs from 115"

(perhaps this is something you just have not got around to yet though)

As an experiment, I've changed the body colour from white to a dark gray.

 

Better? Worse?

I've now added a "style switcher" that changes the site from a "day" style to a dark "night" style. This can be seen at:
