It's a special site for the heard of hearing

No offense but it looks like a spam / con site - however if that is what the client wanted then it meets it's purpose!

I can see this text on the right hand side near the bottom in FF3 "Double click to edit".

Before I read the content I said to myself, this looks like an e-book site... Can't decide whether this is a good thing or not. I suppose my main criticism is that there is nothing in the design to communicate to me that I can trust this site. The header image is very difficult to make out (what is it?), and there seems to be no really unifying design structure. Lots of caps and big red text makes me switch off, and I can't help thinking there must be better ways of presenting the really important bits of copy. Bulleted lists for example. Many of the key points could be displayed as a list, with an eye catching bullet image or background, some nice simple borders etc.

Other than that, the simplicity is good, and the text contrast is ok - I have no problem reading it.

You could do with having a look at your code, though - you have no <h1> or other header tags, so nothing to distinguish the important bits from the rest as far as search engines go. No <p> tags either - a lot of your text formatting could be done using CSS rather than using <font> tags; this would make your code much easier to edit, and much more semantic too.

I appreciate what you say about the spam/con issue.. Trouble is with any website of this nature the 'doubt factor' comes into the thoughts of everyone looking. I must admit I have seen this book and it's 100% genuine to what it says it can do, I have no affiliation to this so can assure you I am not just saying this, however, both me and the client are struggling to get that across!! In the US they believe anything and these kind of sites are rife, but here in the UK we are an untrusting lot at the best of times so this one is proving hard.

Totally agree the layout and design needs relooking at, I have always wondered if a bullet list would look much tidier and presentable.

 

I'll go away with your comments and see what I can do. I don't usually do sites of this nature, it's a first for me, I tend to do more sites like This or This I am not usually a big fan myself of ebook sites so I did struggle with this one.
