Mata tags tite, discription and mata tag key words help wanted

Featured Replies

hello im trying to build a website selling home interiors on opencart and on all pages i have eddited the are boxes for Mata tags tite, discription and mata tag key words. i was wondering what type of content should i put in these this is my website raseinteriors.uk my site is being built at the moment

Hi,

Any single page needs its own unique title and description which is relevant to the content of the page. So each individual product needs its own, each category and more. Don't be tempted to short cut this by using one set for everything. Here's a quick example for http://raseinteriors.uk/bathroom-shelf-storage-unit

Title: Bathroom Shelf Storage Unit - Rase Interiors

Description: £51.99 - Our three shelf bathroom storage unit with a curve design, inspired by the Victorian age. Free UK delivery.

Or something like that. Remember the description is more than 'SEO' , it's click conversion from the serps to the checkout ;)

Edit: Forgot to say in this example I would try to maybe increase the in page content a little. Also not sure if this product is a brand worth mentioning but brand names to play a vital role for some shop items e.g. laura ashley curtains etc.

TIPS

Title

Provide each page a unique title; this prevents confusion with other pages.

Make sure it describes the page; avoid generic names.

Keep it short; do not be tempted to list keywords.

Description

Do not use the same description across different pages.

Do not copy the complete text of a page into the description.

Imagine the snippet of information you see in search results; a good description fits there.

If you must automatically generate your description, try to avoid common keywords.

Keyword tags

Describe the content.

Do not repeat a keyword. For example: cat, cats, big cats, small cats…

Keep the words related to your content, not your competitors.

Try to use no more than ten words.

You post is plagiarism. From this article: http://www.semrush.com/tips/title-description-keywords-meta-tags/

It is fine to quote from articles but at least have the decency to credit the source
