Hi im new on this forum, and I need some advice on what colour to use on my logo. It's a online tutor marketplace. Target group would be from 15-20. I was planning on using blue for branding, but I feel that blue is very common and wont stand out much on facebook and twitter. Any ideas what colour I should use for a website like mines? basically a colour that indicates education, money making and reliability

I think you need to do more research beyond just a target age group. what colours do your competitors use? What demographic are you targeting it at? What other brands do they use?

Everyone else is using different shades of blue. I am offering a online platform that connect tutors and students.

rbtsmith is correct, in order to understand a target market you need to know more about them than just their age, an example would be are the majority male or female? rich or poor? do most live at home with parents? what are their interests?

 

These types of questions although they may seem irrelevant are very important to get an overall picture of who you are aiming at, you have very little hope of succeeding even with the rest of the business not just branding if you dont know the basics.
