You've made the same mistakes an awful lot of web designers make. It looks nice enough, but isn't tailored to any particular marketing strategy, so falls down from a marketing perspective. It's not going to be particularly effective at generating leads from prospective clients, or from prospective strategic alliance partners.

The first thing you need to do is get a marketing plan in place. Once you have done that you can fix the site. At the moment you are putting the cart before the horse.

The copy on the sites in your portfolio also needs work.

Thanks for your feedback, Climber.

Our old website was far too complicated, it had lots of pages, individual pages about domain names, hosting, emails, plugins, photography, photography for websites, studio photography etc, so the plan here was to remove all the crap, and have a simple set up of Home, Web Design and Photography, with just a little overview showing that that's what we do - with a call to action in every box to try to get users to contact us.

We changed this based on feedback from our users who said all they wanted to know was whether we do web design / photography and some examples of work. Our old website had pictures of servers on the homepage to represent hosting, which seemed to scare a lot of people.

We haven't given much consideration to the layout from a marketing perspective, what would you suggest adding? Newsletter sign ups? More call to actions?

It's definitely not a static website and I intend to move things around - the copy on the portfolio was added last minute, it has to be said... that'll definitely be changing!

It looks nice. I am not a marketing on webdesign expert, but as a customer I factor the look of web developer website, among other factors, in my decision making process.

Lacks any kind of brand. I can see your logo in certain pictures - why not use it? Finding it a little off that not a single link can be identified (at least mark them with a different colour/ hover event/ outline/ etc), although it is a little more obvious with the text in the header.
