February 3, 201511 yr Not a problem as such, more of a general discussion really. Who here actually uses this with their WordPress websites for clients (or on their own sites). I have never really used it but started to look in to it and tried it on a few sites but in all honesty I'm not sure the benefits are all that great. Having a poke around at some local, and further afield, agencies and it is hardly used on any sites? Any thoughts?
February 4, 201511 yr Author Thanks Nock. I guess it's a case of deciding whether or not I actually require a caching plugin at all, and whether the results of said plugin outway the bloat of the plugin itself.
February 4, 201511 yr Author Well tests on a small dev site showed that with w3tc installed and activated, the page speed was actually slower than the same site without the plugin. I'm not saying this is true for every site, but even when w3tc did make improvements, it wasn't a great faster.
February 6, 201511 yr I've used W3 Total Cache on a few websites and on shared hosting it does help a decent amount, but what helps more is optimising images. In my experience anyway.It's a great plugin, I would recommend it Edited February 6, 201511 yr by EpicWebs
