Hello everyone.

 

I'm currently working on a design for Creative Echo (Kreativt Ekko in Norwegian) and I would like some feedback on the sketches I've made so fare. I think the design is pretty good, but I would like to know your opinion too. The design is intended to be used as a personal portifolio for his personal buisness, and he does programming like Xhtml, Css, Php, Mysql, Javascript and such.

 

The criterias for the design is:

- 100% height

- Contrastes. Maybe strong colors

- Good layout, not to much fancy graphic

 

Logo:

- All up to you. Doesn't need to be advanced, but I would like it to be classy and elegant

 

Other info:

Besides that, there is no boundaries. You look to have an eye for design, so I'll let you work out the rest.

I think the design is pretty nice. Looks classy and expensive. I would say that this is a job well done!

I really like the simplicity of your layout - very nice and smart. My only problem with it is that the quote on the black banner is very hard to read - try making the text lighter?

A very functional design - and appropriate for a web developer, I think.

The top quote might be a little dark. I tried to get the focus on the logo by giving the quote a dark color, but I know I have a bright monitor. I'll try to brighten the text up a bit.

 

Anyone else got something they want to say? I would appriciate more feedback from you guys.

mabey you could change the header font into a rounder one...i like the one there now...but i just think a more rounded 1 will look nicer.

I've never been really happy about that font to be hounest. I'm using a font called "Newcastle" now. I've tried Arial, Centhury Gothic and a couple of quality downloaded fonts found on sites like Smashing Magazine.

 

Got any tips for a font that is free or allready on the Windows OS? This is a favour-exchange-project. He's coding a plugin for my fotball site, while I makes him a design. No money involved, so I would perfer not to pay for a font.

 

Any other got any critique? I'll be happy to hear it.

I like the design in a personal aspect, but I'm not sure it screams "I program things!" I mean, when I think programming, I think of sites like:

 

http://www.zend.com/en/ or http://codeigniter.com/

 

I realize these are full on scripts, but they make me think, "oh, backend products." I know doing a coding portfolio is probably really irritating, but it's about the impression.

 

It is a very nice design, though.

Codeigniter.com is a very good design, but I was told that he wanted a nice and solid layout without to much graphic. Maybe i'll add some icons like in the codeigniter-menu in the graphic.

 

You also need to display a large amoun of info when you offer a software package. I don't think that is really needed in the same way on a portifolio.

 

But thanks for your feedback. I'll take it into consideraton if the client wants another kind on layout.
