October 10, 201411 yr Hi there, its been a while since I've posted here but haven't forgot about this place! Anyway, recently someone approached me about a WordPress issue they were having (to do with their responsive navigation) and they didn't want to ask their previous developer due to severe over charging and so on.. From someone who doesn't work with WP often enough, I am fairly certain I could solve the issue but what I need to know is, what's the best way to go about solving it? Do I back the site up and then edit it live or do I download it, set it up on my server and then reupload? If you need more info just ask, it's 7 am and I'm quite tired aha ;p thanks. October 11, 201411 yr I wouldn't edit the live site really I would instead download it on my local machine and edit that then just re-upload it when its finished.
October 11, 201411 yr Install it locally on your machine, solve the problem, then upload it to a live site once the client has paid.
November 1, 201411 yr If you have FTP access, I'd download the entire site and re-upload it to my own test site. Then you can work on it, solve the issue, and apply it to the live site with confidence.
