June 25, 200818 yr Hello Guys, I just received an email from 123 reg claiming that: "Your bandwidth quota for the remaining month is less than 250MB. Please consider purchasing a bandwidth top-up from your 123-reg control panel. Should your quota be exceeded or exhausted, your hosting will be disabled until the beginning of the next month." Seems a bit quick to be getting this kind of e-mail!! How does bandwidth decrease, is it to with my hosting of number of visitors etc? Michael
June 25, 200818 yr Author Thanks for the response lol. Here is my stats page http://www.miga-designs.co.uk/stats/, this give any reason as to why I may have almost exceeded my bandwidth?
June 25, 200818 yr Author Any FTP usage is also added to your bandwidth quota. I see. Yes, to be honest I have done alot of putting up and pulling down, that must have contributed towards it! So where in the stats does it suggest FTP Mihai? Michael PS- How would I go about finding out how much bandwidth I have or how much I have remaining on my account for the designated month then?
June 25, 200818 yr Does 123 reg give a cpanel? If so on then on the left of the cpanel menu you will see details such as space, bandwidth and domains.
June 25, 200818 yr Yes you should have something to monitor data transfer usage in your control panel but i somehow doubt whether 123reg give you it
June 25, 200818 yr What hosting package do you have with them? I don't think 123-reg offer cPanel with their hosting accounts but they should have some sort of 'usage' reporting be that disk space and bandwidth.
June 26, 200818 yr Author What hosting package do you have with them? I don't think 123-reg offer cPanel with their hosting accounts but they should have some sort of 'usage' reporting be that disk space and bandwidth. I do have a cpanel with my Miga Designs account. I think I started on only the basic account to get the ball rolling so to speak. As I say this e-mail claiming I have less than 250/1500MB remaining and after only almost 3 weeks!! I can either purchase more bandwidth @ £6 for 250MB or £25 for 1GB. I could upgrade to the Starter Pro or Plus account, the latter being £31 inc VAT on top of my years hosting I have already paid! Failing that I could find another host!
June 26, 200818 yr Is that £25 (for 1 GB) extra per year? That's quite a lot (£25 = $50 = $4.1667 per month... most hosts can offer an extra GB of bandwidth for around $0.50 to $1.00 per month..) If you like your current host and are happy with the prices, then stay However I'd just like to point out that £25 for 1 GB extra is about 6-10 times more expensive that elsewhere (AFAIK).
June 26, 200818 yr Author Nice to see you back on my case Tristan lol. Here is the screenshot of my 123 reg page... So does this mean for the year or just for the month then?
June 26, 200818 yr F**k me that's a rip off. I usually offer my clients and extra 1gb for £5 as a one off, or the option of upgrading their hosting plan which works out to £1/gb
