I've been watching these threads for a while, trying to work out what to do.

 

I'm UK based, and currently host with DreamHost, in the US. I have about 20 sites hosted, for myself, and clients, all UK Based. However, i'm not currently on a Reseller package.

 

Numerous threads have said that if i'm UK based, so should be my hosting too. Im not sure, any suggestions welcome

 

However, I host in the US at the moment because it's cheaper.

 

I have a max budget of £150 a year, thought at the moment I do it for £200 for every 2. (£100 a year)

 

Currently I use: about 1gb data, about 3gb bandwidth, but that could change, and about 10 databases.

 

What I want: at least 8gb data, at least 50gb bandwidth, at least 20 databases, easy script installers (Wordpress, PHPbb, etc), DNS Transfers, CName, Pop email accounts, personal name servers or the ability to manually create them (like i have now), at least 50 FTPs, subdomains,

I would like a reseller if possible, but not essential. UK Based? not sure, don't rule out US yet! About £150 a year max, preferably £100.

 

My current options i've found so far:

• Stick where I am at Dreamhost- i'm on the old Crazy Domain Insane plan that costs me $192.80 every 2 years, unlimited FTP, email, 300gb space, 6000gb bandwidth

You've got a good list there - all I would advise is that you go for a package that suits your needs, and not for an oversold package (i.e. like DreamHost - who offer space and bandwidth than they could physically offer each customer if push comes to shove).

To be honest, i'm very happy with DreamHost, i'm just looking at alternatives to see if they'res anything that will suit me better.

Ah right okay, that's fair enough Well if you're happy with the quality and price of DreamHost, there's not too much point in moving IMHO. DreamHost are also fairly established, hence it's always a risk to move to another host (especially if you are very happy with them).

Have a look at http://www.clook.co.uk/services/reseller - their Reseller-1 comes in at £150+vat but you will be joining one of the better hosts, their support is legendary, they don't oversell, and are UK based with servers at the London Hosting Center.
