tip dialog boxes for form

Featured Replies

Hi guys :hi:

As you know I'm doing this site for an insurance agency. I'm currently working on the life insurance form now. There are tips that go with each field. I don't want to create a separate column for them. I would much rather have it so when a person is confused they hover over the blank spot or somewhere in the field and a small dialog box pops up with the tip. How would I go about doing this? Is there a way I can do this without Javascript and through just pure CSS? Please let me know!

Thanks

Hi Seth,

you could do something along the lines of:

html:

<a class="tip" href="#" title="Field Tip">Tip?<span>Your tip dialogue here</span></a>

css:

a.tip {
position:relative;
}
a.tip span {
visibility:hidden;
position:absolute;
top:whatever;
left:whatever;
z-index:10;
}
a.tip:hover span {
visibility:visible;
}

Not tested but should give you the idea :)
