I have created a web site for a local band. The layout & background image stay the same throughout the site - however the band want to be able to update the text themselves ( gig listings etc ). rather than them updating the html file for each page every time is there a way using divs & java script to allow them to upload a file that will then populate a scrolling text box on the page? Also when a nav button is clicked can the text be loaded into the text box without having to relaod the page? So I only have 1 html file for the whole site (if this makes sense).

I know this can be achieved in flash using xml files, but is it possible on a site created in html & css?

many thanks

You could do something similar with a text file (CSV), then call it with PHP. The people doing the updates would have to be shown how to put the info in the correct format, though.

The easiest way would have been to use a content management system, I don't know if it's too late to implement one now?
