Bespoke Website with WordPress

Featured Replies

I'd like to build my own website but have a link within it, to a WordPress blog.

Forget anything to do with design here.

The question is, by updating the WordPress blog page - would this be recognised by search engines as 'keeping the site updated?' Also, would it be okay having a sitemap for the WordPress page (and associated blog post pages) and another for the individual website pages?

If not, what's the best way to approach this?

Thank you.

Is it an option to keep everything in WP?

You can have static content as well on top of the blog. Check my site in my signature it's set up that way.

Yes, you need to have a theme, but you can make that theme from scratch, or you can use a blank starter theme.

Then you can build your site on it, pretty much as you build it in pure HTML/CSS :)

There is plenty of help online (including this forum) if you get stuck somewhere in the way.
