How do you start your own webhost?

I know there are a lot of webhost out there that offers reseller host, but what else is involved do we have to create our own CPanel for our host or our reseller host already provides this?

The hosting provider would provide you cPanel, you just need to get yourself a good website and billing system setup

Generally speaking, if you have to ask this question, then perhaps you shouldn't be opening a web hosting business.

Here's a general guide

  1. Get a reseller account and a domain (some providers will provide a free domain with reseller accounts)
  2. Set up custom nameservers (most resellers will show you how to do this)
  3. Set up billing and automation software (WHMCS -- again, most resellers will provide this for free)
  4. Set up a website to sell your hosting on

When you get a reseller account, you'll be provided with cPanel and WHM, where you can make more cPanel accounts. Now, of course, that doesn't cover the technical aspects, like support requests. However, there are a lot of resellers that offer end user support, so you don't have to worry about the tech support.

Buy a reseller plan from somewhere like WebHostingBuzz (I'm with them).

They provide cPanel accounts for your users and you can buy WHMCS (billing software) as an add-on.
