I have just put this site up I was working in IE6 and firefox 2.02 when building it all was ok inboth browers until I check it in IE7 and found that the middle section of the page was out of alignment so I adjusted the css to suit IE6 & 7 but now I am face firefox now isn't aligned the address is www.classiqueimports.com.au if any one out there can help to get this to work in both browser i'd be greatful

Had a peek at your code and your using waaaay too many DIV - for your naviation/product name navigation use code for a list rather than seperate DIVs .. basically because your nav's are lists! Will make your code leaner and more semantic.

 

Have a look at Listamatic/Listutorial - http://css.maxdesign.com.au/ << one of the best resources around!

 

I'd recommend Web Standards Solutions for you as well - I used this book and it made the switch to CSS much easier, and I still use it today because it's full of really useful tips. I sometimes find web books are dry and the examples, you'd never use - but not in this book!

Thanks ben I think I have solved it I went to the basics of css and I have now adjusted it to work in IE and firefox but I do agree with you on to many divs But as I do more sites I will get the handle on this css caper sooner or later also it's great to get some elses crit as it olny helps you think how you are going

I've got the Web Standards Solutions book too and it helped me make the transition from tables to CSS. However if you already know CSS, I'd recommend Dan's other book Bulletproof Web Design it's brilliant - it takes real life website issues and makes them bulletproof with CSS - I found it a Godsend!

Ah, I was looking into getting this - sounds good! There's a quite a few CSS books out there, but I prefer to get a review from someone who's read it impartially *toodles off to amazon...*

Did anyone else notuce that it was SLLLOOOWWW. You should lookat compressing the images more (or I should upgrade my internet connection hmmm).

thanks guys the reason the pic is 127k I can't get it any smaller as it come to me as a pdf and it's like 3.5mb then I have to scale it down to something like 45-60% due to being an newpaper add then some how rescale it down to below 150k as the size you see is the size the client wants so as you can see it's driving me mad but what that client wants he gets right
