I'm considering purchasing a templete for my website I'm in the process of building and I was wondering what peoples thoughts were.

I was wondering what the pitfalls are when purchasing someone elses template and how easy it would be to change the colour scheme.

You can contact the author of the themes for help. Usually the premium themes will supply several color schemes. And if you know css, it will not be a problem to change the color.

What if I don't know css, how hard is it to change the colour?

or as someone said - with premium themes most of the time there are few different kind of colors.

Hire an Indian student or similar priced programmer.

Many sites offer hourly contracting services.

I found you can get someone knowing WP and css with 2-3 years of experience for about $12-15 per hour.

Downside is that you maybe will need to do the creative part yourself since they might bring only technical knowledge.

However this can be a cheap way if you willing to put your own efforts along.
