Purchasing a Template
I'm considering purchasing a templete for my website I'm in the process of building and I was wondering what peoples thoughts were. This is the template I'm looking to purchase: http://themefuse.com/wp-themes-shop/travel-wordpress-theme/ I was wondering what the pitfalls are when purchasing someone elses template and how easy it would be to change the colour scheme. TIA Chris

Hey guys sorry i havent been around, I've decided to pay someone to build my website so with that in mind do you recommend paying someone local or perhaps someone from this forum?

Just one final thought, is it possible for a CMS to display local prices based on IP address?

Afternoon all, Thank you for all the nice warm welcome messages. I've decided that the best thing to do would be to pay someone to build the site. I have decided this based on my own limited experience in web design and the need for wanting to create a professional looking site. I've decided I would like a simple CMS that can be used to search and display holidays but I would like to have the facitily to link in with trip advisor. I'm not that concerned about payment. I do have one question and that is: is it worthwhile having all my content on one system or would it be better to have seperate CMS's for different holidays? Option 1 Directory Tree: Holiday Types > Countries > Local Destinations EG: Beach Holidays > Spain > Benidorm Option 2 CMS 1 = Safari CMS 2 = Flydrives CMS 3 = Safaris Cheers Chris

HM, Is it possible to have a small payment and invoicing system built into a website. Lets say a customers purchases a holiday for £1000 and wants to pay it off online over a 4 month period. is there any system that would allow then to log in pay their deposits and get a balance of the invoice and even print the invoice out? Cheers Chris

HM, It's not for a client it's for myself. I'm looking for something to manage my travel packages (web pages) in a standard format that would also link into a Trip Advisor widget. Cheers

Thanks everyone, I'm starting to feel a little out of my depth. Usually when I would create a database I would sit down and plan it first but I don't know where to start with a website anymore. I think the back end being the driving part needs to be developed first but I havent got any experience with what would be required with a travel agency website.

I think that sort of answers my question around my ability. If someone experienced requires support then in someways i'm well out of my depth when it comes to my ability.

Thanks for the reply teodora, I just had a look at some of your sites and I noticed the travel site. Can I ask, is a site like that difficult to create and does it have a standard tour package import site thats easy to maintain. Cheers Chris

Just wanting to say hi, I'm an aussie living in scotland not sure that either of those is a good thing let alone combined. Around 8-10 years ago I used to design websites but having moved over to sunny scotland I moved into designing databases instead. I'm now in the process of building a website for my new travel business but I feel very overwelmed with the differences between what i used to know to what I now don't know. I thought I would give on here a try and see what I can come up with or in the end I might just have to pay someone to do it for me. Cheers Chris
