Fast Hosting Direct.

I tried to find some references about this hosting in this forum but didn't find anything. (sorry if I missed it)

 

So, the question is: has anybody used this hosting or at least heard something about it?

 

 

If yes - please, share your experience.

If no - please, share what service do you use or would advice to use (the talk is about private webpages, portfolio, company pages, not heavy forums or whatever).

 

 

I've used this hosting (Fast Hosting Direct) 1.5 years. I host my homepage there.

No any troubles with this. Except one thing - very complicated login to cPanel. But I almost never use it so it's not a big problem for me.

 

They have very nice offer - 2 years of hosting + 1 year domain (com, net, co.uk or other) for 19.99 pounds.

I used this offer for my webpage as well.

I don't have a big practice in using UK or international hosting. I've tried many of them in my country (non UK).

You are being hosted by a reseller of Heart Internet then, sharing with 1500+ other websites on your IP!!!!! Not good...

They dont have cPanel.. Its there own "ExtendCP"

I do understand this.

But I really don't see any bad sides in case if I use this hosting just for, let say, home page, like a visit card.

Low price; good up time - two most important advantages for such kind of pages.

I have a website with forum, about 500 unique visitors every day. Quite a big daily traffic. And off-course I use absolutely another kind of hosting. I tried some, but most of them couldn't provide good service for this website on virtual server.

 

I know, lots of neighbors on the same server, IP is not good at all. Because of security, productivity and so on.

 

But at this stage it's not really actual for site with 4 sections and.... let's be honest 2 or 3 visitors a day =]

really, I just wanted to know if someone heared about it. or if someone could advise cheap stable hosting. Just a discussion.

 

Will be more careful with links next time. My opinion can be wrong, that's why I'm asking, not claiming =]

 

BTW what is heartinternet? is it a main UK hosting provider?

As I understood much more preferable put more serious projects on such hosting as heartinternet, right?

I understand now the principals. Such thing as hosting resellers... I didn't meet them before in country I lived. I mean on a such commercial platform as here.

So if you have quite small budget, you use offers from resellers.

If the project has enough financial backing - much better to use original hosting companies.

The problem with reseller accounts is that if the person with the reseller account is just a fly-by-night and trying to make a quick quid, and it doesn't work out and closes their account, bye bye website.

almost the same happened with me what you said about.

Couple days ago there were some troubles with hosting settings.

During this issue webpage was crapped.

I've got response from hosting support during 24 hours (actually I was waiting about 18 hours) and still support was usefulness.

Good for me I have a backup on my PC.
