September 24, 201213 yr Hello everyone. I am new here so if this is being done wrong, please let me know and I will correct myself accordingly. I built a website for a local gym I work out at but its not showing up in a Google search.I did the Google webmaster tools, I had google verify my acct and even had it 'crawled' by Google. But still when I type into google the name of the gym, it doesnt come up. It's been over 2 weeks now or so. I have Description, and Keywords in it. Do I just need to keep waiting or did I miss a step in this process? The url is sumtercrossfit.com if that helps any. I thank you all in advance for your time and help.
September 24, 201213 yr Usually it takes more than just doing what you said. SEO can be a complex and often long process. When you search for the gym, what is it you're typing in? It could be that it's a slightly competitive keyword that would require some offsite work. That would include getting backlinks. This can be done by participating on forums, facebook, twitter etc. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't worry yet. You're website is indexed with Google, but just because you did all that you have done, doesn't mean you'll appear straight away. I'd give it four weeks and then look at doing some offsite work. Do you promote your website anywhere?
September 24, 201213 yr a bit confusing here and the old SEO spam spidey sense is tingling. The text you put for the website differs from the URL you linked to and I've just Googled and it's number 6. That was using 'crossfit sumter' as the search as I can only assume that is the company name. Not much on the site to give that away and I'm not a bot.
September 24, 201213 yr Author Yea, yesterday when I checked I wasnt even on the page of the google search. We do have a facebook page. as for the text on the link, that was just a mistake on my part, sorry about that. So would you guys suggest that I do anything different to get further up the list? I am sorry but im still really new at this.
