What's the latest and greatest in grid frameworks out there?

 

I am leaning towards 960.gs but that seems kind of small these days... 1080.gs looks good, but I don't see the code on github or anything so I have no idea if it even works.

I recommend Skeleton.

 

This site got a great tutorial to make the site fit to 1280 and to wordpress.

If you want a fixed grid, try a 978px container, 12 columns at 54px and gutters of 30px. Much more suited to modern text sizes than 960.

 

Responsive would be better though.

a paid grid system -- interesting. I think i'll pass though.

Going by the average freelance rate of £30ph, if it saves you 20 minutes it's paid for itself (at £8 per grid set).
