August 30, 201214 yr Hi, I have a Wordpress blog site which started out as just a site about my bonsai tree growing. I want to expand the site to cover different areas of interest and I was wondering if it was possible to have another blog area within the same site? (ie one blog for my trees, one blog for my martial arts etc). the site is at www.nevercool.co.uk . its a standard WP install , up to date and running a pretty standard theme (2012 if you're interested - slightly modded). Cheers
August 30, 201214 yr You could use categories to separate your everything and then in the main nav you could just link to the category. This way you can have all posts from all the categories on the home page and seperate blog feeds for each category. Alternativly you could always install a second wordpress into www.nevercool.co.uk/soccer/ and link the two dashboards together. link 1 link 2
August 30, 201214 yr Easy enough. Subdomain or subdirectory? You definitely shouldn't install a second copy of WP, that's two copies you'd have to keep up to date. Edited August 30, 201214 yr by Renaissance-Design
August 30, 201214 yr Easy enough. Subdomain or subdirectory? But wouldn't you have to put another version of WordPress on the subdomain?
August 30, 201214 yr Nope - all you'd need to do is set up a wildcard subdomain in the DNS. Never done this before... Also you can use WordPress multisite to link your two WordPress install together so you can manage them together (ie for core updates) or you can log in separately and manage them as a single wp install. linky
