Campaign Tracking & Google Analytics

Anybody here have any experience with this?

Basically I have a few print adverts running and need to be able to track response rate, so I have created several pages, like /cbs, /rbs etc. So a potential visitor would see roothost.co/cbs in a magazine, but when typed would just redirect to the home page (simple enough), BUT I need to be tracking how many times this happens to keep tabs on response rates from specific adverts.

the url which you are redirecting, put tracking code on it. so by doing this you can track this url as well.

That is what I asked!

If by doing it, because it is redirecting via the htaccess file, will it register as teh redirected page being viewed/landed on, as it wont actually have been viewed?

I don't think it's as easy as that. I just checked the traffic to one of my websites, that I know I recently accessed via a 301'd domain, and it doesn;t appear to be coming up as a redirect.

Maybe this will help: http://www.lanevance.com/web/web-development/tracking-301-redirects-with-google-analytics/
