I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get the rounded wrap effect on this navigation bar.

 

I would like to learn how its done.

By adding and subtracting shapes in Photoshop to get the curved outlines, then applying the gradient.

Do you know which tool creates the rounded wrap at each end?

Ellipse shape.

It should be pretty straightforward to do with the pen tool.

 

Create a rectangle, add the top part of the curl to one side with the pen tool, duplicate and reflect it so you have two identical sides, then merge.

 

That goes on top, then under that (and any elements you want the ribbon to go over) you can play around with the pen or ellipse tool to get the little inside the curl around part. Then it's a matter of tweaking gradients to achieve the look.
