Solid hover colour

Featured Replies

In a unordered list nav bar, I have the hyperlinks set to change colour as the user hovers over them but I wondered how I went about setting it so say if the user was on the "Gallery" page, the "Gallery" tab would be an alternate colour to the over links.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

So the button knows to be an alternative colour when it's on a certain page I normally assign a id to the body e.g.

<body id="index">

I would then have in my stylesheet the code to make the background (if using an image) move to be the active state (same as the hover colour), if your just using a solid colour simply remove the reference to the background-image and replace it with a colour.

#index #navigation .navhome a {
background: url(../img/navigation.gif) no-repeat 0 -26px;
width:  70px;
float: left;
margin-right: 5px;
}

Hope that makes sense
