May 6, 200818 yr Hey Maestros, I'm working on my second website. The first one is finally up and running (xtendSD). I'm just busy getting the lose ends together. With the previous website my boss just wrote everything up himself, with this one however it seems I'm going to have to do most of the typing. And I need some help with the Terms of Use, Privacy Statement and Website Disclaimer. Has there already been a topic addressing these? Does anyone have any reference sites I can go to where I can find out what to put within these pages. From what I've heard, they are legally meant to be put on websites. I'm not sure if that is true. It might even be a South African regulation that might not apply everywhere else. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cari.
May 6, 200818 yr Anything that addresses legal related issues is ideally best dealt with through a solicitor. You also have to incorporate local legal requirements if they apply - eg in the UK anyone selling online has to comply with the Distance Selling Regulations. I don't know much about SA law, have you tried an internet search?
May 6, 200818 yr Author I have, I seem to get a result of other websites' pages, not any guidelines as to how to write up my own. I might just read through a bunch of terms of use pages and try gather info like that. Lol, I just asked my boss where he got his info from and he said he pretty much copied what other websites had done. So I guess I'll just do the same.
May 6, 200818 yr Try Citizens Advice ? They may be able to help, if not point you in the right direction.
