Google Business listing

Featured Replies

Hi there

I have a question regarding google. If i was looking for a mechanic in coventry for example, i might type 'Mechanic Coventry' and then at the top of the search results is a google map which has A,B,C,D etc with business listings that are local to me.

I understand you have to register with google to make this happen, but what i do not understand is if i type say 'Mechanic Rugby' or 'Mechanic Leamington' there are no results and the map does not appear at all?

There are loads of mechanics in these areas, but why does google not show these business lsitings in all areas? I know they exist, but is there a reason why the listings do not appear in some areas?

Thanks for the help

They're Google Places results. Could be that none of the mechanics in those areas have created listings. Usually they pop up more when you use "in" as part of your search, eg. "Mechanic in Leamington".

I have tried adding the word 'in' but it made no difference. Just seems a little far fetched that large areas like Leamington would have no results for Mechanic.

I have tried searching for different business secotrs and they do not appear either. Its as if certain areas are not permitted to show results for any business type?

I agree to your statement which is the word "in" is the stop word telling the bot that you are looking a mechanic on that specific area.
