Best code for E-Commerce

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm creating a shop website and just wondering what's the best E-commerce coding for it. Its mostly buying clothes online.

php is the only server side language I know so I cant give a comparison. But its easy to learn, has many many functions and libraries that facilitate your coding. Its the language of choice by the majority of server side programmers so you will find alot of online help via forums, tutorials etc. Wordpress is built using php so you can also customise wordpress themes, create your own or create plugins for Wordpress.

If your website is a shop, you'll need something dedicated to e-commerce.

The best software for your particular site is determined by your number of unique SKUs, your data import/export requirements and the functionality you'll need, and could be anything from Shopify to Magento. You'll have to give some more information.

You could possibly use PHP, ASP or MySQl, although i would suggest that you go with PHP because it is easy to learn and do the experiments with. MySQL could also be preferred. Alternatively you could also use Java but then you would need expertise in Java and i guess it would become tedious.
